Dress 9

dress9

This is a wool smock that I found at The Black Market in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sadly I have never worn it. It’s a bit whimsical. Very artsy, or geeky….I am both! So, the tag is coming off and I’ll have to give it a whirl!

I’m really happy with this illustration EXCEPT…I wish I would have exercised my “artistic license” and made both of the pockets visible. I love the right side of the dress where you see the pocket. The left side also has a pocket, but it was somewhat hidden in a fold. Which is how I tried to draw it. I don’t think it comes across very well.

I loved working with purple and used cobalt blue or ultramarine blue mixed with intense pink to achieve the purple. In March it would be fun to share with you my palette. Until then I must keep cranking out dresses!
