The oils have been packed away. I’ve painted my last new painting for my little exhibit starting in February at Art and Soul in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Which means I’ll be turning my attention back to illustration. Just painted a little heart today that I wanted to share with you.

Very cute, I love these types of watercolors, it always amazes me how different it looks once the shadows are painted in. I’ve never worked with gouache though, is it very different from watercolor, other than being less transparent?

I’m not a gouache expert, but from what I have experienced so far it is very much like watercolor. There is also acrylic gouache, which is water resistant when dry. I haven’t tried that yet.
